Maintenance, Transportation, and Security General Services

Sherman Independent School District (“SISD” or the “District”) is accepting proposals for Maintenance and Transportation General Services. It is the intent of Sherman ISD to award this contract to multiple vendors to provide a broad base of products to meet the needs of the District. Proposals shall include all labor, materials, superintendence, tools and equipment necessary for completion of assigned work, in accordance with the instructions, terms and conditions, and requirements/specifications contained in this agreement.

**Electronic Bidding:** Although we are legally required to accept paper bid submissions, we strongly encourage that bidders submit this bid electronically. When filing this bid electronically, please do not send us a paper copy as the electronic version will prevail.

It is not the policy of the District to purchase on the basis of low bids alone. In evaluating bids submitted and per the Texas Education Code 44.031(b), the following considerations shall be taken into account to determine the best value for the District.

• the purchase price;
• the reputation of the vendor and of the vendor’s goods or services;
• the quality of the vendor’s goods or services;
• the extent to which the goods or services meet the district’s needs;
• the vendor’s past relationship with the district
• the impact on the ability of the district to comply with laws and rules relating to historically underutilized businesses;
• the total long-term cost to the district to acquire the vendor’s goods or services; and
• any other relevant factor specifically listed in the request for bids and proposals.

Bid results will be presented to the Sherman Independent School District Board of Trustees for approval at the earliest opportunity following the bid/proposal opening if $50,000 or greater.
