What the bid is for

The City of Montpelier is seeking proposals for prequalification and vendor selection of wastewater collection suction lift pump systems. The selected equipment/vendor may be utilized as the basis of design for current and future pump station replacement and rehabilitation projects, where applicable, within the City of Montpelier's wastewater collection system.

The proposal consists of equipment supply and related services to the City of Montpelier for the preselection of wastewater collection system suction lift pump skids and appurtenances. [...] It is the intent of the City of Montpelier to standardize all eight sewer pump stations with the same pump manufacturer.

Scope

In response to the advertisement, the proposal shall outline the vendor/suppliers' standard skid mounted suction lift duplex system including all standard appurtenances and features for review and consideration by the owner. Enclosed with the proposal shall be included a template specification for the standard skid mounted system which identifies standard materials, construction methods, and testing. Along with the standard specification supplied, the pump to motor interface shall be described along with any seals or wear components clearly identified. [...] For the purpose of evaluation, the performance parameters of the proposed system shall be as follows:

  • A complete skid mounted duplex suction lift wastewater collection system capable of passing 3-inch solids.
  • The system shall be designed for a pumping rate of 230 gpm at 25 feet of total dynamic head (each pump).
  • Suction lift head = 15' at 515' above mean sea level.
  • The available power supply considered shall be 230V/3 Phase. Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) shall be included for each motor as part of the skid.
  • Pump discharges may be combined, but isolation control shall be provided so either pump can be taken out of service while maintaining normal operation of the station.
  • Provide a list of available monitoring and alarm features available through a SCADA monitoring platform and any required or options software subscriptions to facilitate the monitoring.
  • Provide the length of time for the manufacturer's warranty and any excluded components.

Additional information

Submittals shall be made electronically to The City of Montpelier, parts@montpelier-vt.org by **3:00PM local time on December 3, 2026**, at which time the proposals received will be privately opened.

Each of the submissions will be scored in each of the identified categories by the City of Montpelier's DPW staff. The score from each category will be summed for each submission with the maximum total score being **100 points**.

  • Priming System: 15 points
  • References / Demonstrated Performance: 15 points
