VA Illiana Health Care System (VAIHCS) has a requirement to demolish old boiler plant in Building 100 in accordance with the project drawings and specifications. Work includes general construction, demolition, removal of underground storage tank, traditional asbestos abatement, lead-based paint removal and disposal, and certain other items. Contractor shall Furnish all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, supervision, management, and all other necessary resources required for Project #550-20-121 Demo Old Boiler Plant B100 as required by the drawings and specifications.
The Period of Performance is One Hundred Eighty (180) calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The NTP shall be issued approximately 14 calendar days after award once required payment and performance bonds and certificate of insurance is provided.
The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on www.SAM.gov. There will be a pre-bid conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid conference will be included in the solicitation package.
Pursuant to Public Law 109-461, this solicitation is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firms. In accordance with VAAR 819.7003(DEVIATION) (b), at the time of submission of bids, and at the time of award of any contract, the offeror must represent to the CO that it is a (1) SDVOSB eligible under VAAR Subpart 819.70; (2) Small business concern under the NAICS code assigned to this acquisition; and (3) Certified SDVOSB listed in the SBA certification database at https://veterans.certify.sba.gov/ (see 13 CFR 128).
The solicitation will be issued on or about October 8, 2026. The bidder is responsible for monitoring and downloading any amendments from SAM.gov which may be issued to this solicitation. The magnitude of the requirement is between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction; small business $45 Million size standard applies.
