Bid 26-012 Green Valley Drainage Improvements

Sealed bids for Bid #26-012 Green Valley Drainage Improvements will be received by the City of Hoover at the Office of the City Clerk, whose office is located in Hoover City Hall at 100 Municipal Lane, Third Floor, Hoover, Alabama, 35216. The work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment, and doing the work of sewer system improvements according to Specifications, Plans, Drawings, Contract Documents, and Policies.

The bracket estimate on this project is from **$1,554,999 - $1,718,683**. This bracket range is shown only to provide general financial information to contractors and bonding companies, and should not be used in preparing a bid, nor will this bracket have any bearing on the decision to award the contract.

The work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment, and doing the work of sewer system improvements according to Specifications, Plans, Drawings, Contract Documents, and Policies.

The principal items of work are approximately as follows: Stormwater Pipe Removal and Installation, Stormwater Box Culvert Installation, Stormwater Structures Removal and Installation, Roadway and Site Restoration, Traffic Control, Erosion and Sediment Control, and Grading.

The entire project shall be completed in 180 working days.

All bids must be submitted in SECURELY SEALED envelopes that are clearly marked on the outside with "SEALED BID, Alabama General Contractor's License Number, Bid Number 26-012, Bid for Completion of Green Valley Drainage Improvements, Bidder's Name, Bidder's Address, and the Bid Opening Date and Time. Each bid must be in a separate envelope. Electronic transmittal of bids is not accepted.

Bids must be mailed, shipped using a commercial shipping company, or hand delivered to the City Clerk.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or bid bond for the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount bid (maximum amount of bond $10,000), made payable to the CITY, and certified by a reputable banking institution.

The performance bond required will be for the amount bid, and labor and material bond shall be 100% of the amount of the contract. The Contractor shall furnish a Maintenance Bond in the amount of twenty-five percent (25%) of the Contract Price.

The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible Bidder, complying with the conditions of the Invitation for Bids, provided his Bid is reasonable and in the best interest of the Owner for acceptance.

Any contractor that desires to bid as a prime contractor must possess a Heavy/Railroad (H/RR) Major Classification or Heavy/Railroad Specialty Construction (H/RR-S): with a Drainage related Specialty licensure.
