What the bid is for

Rancho California Water District (“District”) is soliciting bids for the furnishing, assembly, and delivery of a new deep-set, water-lubricated vertical turbine pump assembly for the rehabilitation of Well 153. The purpose of this procurement is to restore pumping efficiency, production capacity, water quality, and operational reliability.

Scope

The Contractor shall furnish a complete, new, and fully assembled pump system, including the bowl assembly, column pipe, line-shaft assembly, bronze retainers with rubber bushings, intermediate and head shafts, sounding tubes, stainless steel suction screen and cone strainer, 125 HP vertical hollow-shaft motor, and all necessary hardware and materials. The District will furnish the fabricated steel discharge head and motor steady bushing.

The pump assembly shall achieve a design operating point of 2,000 gallons per minute (GPM) at 185 feet Total Dynamic Head (TDH), with a minimum pump efficiency of 83.6 percent. The operating duty point shall fall to the right of the pump's Best Efficiency Point (BEP). All equipment shall comply with the applicable material, coating, and NSF/ANSI 61 requirements identified in *Exhibit A*.

This solicitation is limited to equipment procurement and related technical support. District personnel or others under separate contract shall perform all installation, startup operations, testing, adjustments, and corrective fieldwork. The Contractor shall provide a qualified representative to observe initial startup, commissioning, and field performance testing, review operating conditions, document deficiencies, and provide technical recommendations.

Additional information

The Contractor shall remain responsible for equipment performance and applicable warranty obligations. Upon notification of an equipment deficiency, the Contractor shall respond within forty-eight (48) hours with technical assistance and coordination of replacement parts. When requested, the Contractor shall provide qualified personnel for onsite technical support within the same timeframe.

Factory hydraulic performance testing is not required. ANSI/HI 14.6.4, Grade 1B shall establish the District's hydraulic performance expectations, with the equipment required to meet the specified design-point conditions within ±5 percent. Final acceptance shall depend on satisfactory field performance verification and compliance with the Contract Documents.
