Construction of Security Vestibules and Improvements for Select Schools

Construction of Security Vestibules and Improvements to Cousins Middle School, Indian Creek Middle School, Veterans Middle School, Alcovy High School, & Newton High School Schools Newton County, GA, for Newton County Board of Education, Newton County, Georgia.

This project consists of installing constructing storefront partitions a some locations, installing cutting and patching masonry, and painting.

Contract, if awarded, will be on a stipulated sum basis.

The Owner will make progress payments to the successful contractor upon receipt of request for payment having been certified by the Architect as fully covered and shown in Contract Documents.

Contract documents have been submitted to the Authorities having jurisdiction for permitting. Permits will be available at the time Notice to proceed is issued.

**Submission:** Sealed lump sum proposals will be received by the Newton County Board of Education, Service Center, 11031 Covington Bypass, Covington, GA 30014 until **3:00 p.m., local time, on Thursday, December 3, 2026**, at which time and place all proposals received will be opened and read aloud. Proposals received after the above time is called will be returned.

No Owner telephones, faxes or email services will be available.

Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receipt of bids. Bids shall be accompanied by a **bid bond** payable to Newton County Board of Education in an amount equal to five percent of the base bid (Certified Checks NOT Acceptable). **Performance Bond** and **Labor and Material Payment Bond**, each amount equal to 100 percent of the contract sum, will be required of the successful bidder.

Bidding documents must be obtained only through the office of the Architect, Cunningham, Forehand, Matthews & Moore, Architects, Inc., 2011 Manchester St., Atlanta, Ga. 30324. Applications for documents, together with deposit of **$ 50.00 per set**, and the Contractor's completed, current, job specific *AIA Qualification Statement A305* (less than 1 year old), should be filed promptly with the Architect. Bid deposits are non-refundable.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities in bidding, and to award a contract for any part of the work, or the job as a whole.

The Owner encourages General Contractors to utilize qualified local and minority subcontractors and material suppliers. The Owner does not, however, require this participation and it is not a factor in determining the contract award.
