UMD Griggs Hall Pods K/L Remodel

The University is requesting Proposals to provide Construction Services for remodel of Pods K & L in Griggs Hall, located on the Duluth campus. Refer to the Request for Proposal documents (found in the Attachments tab) for full project details/requirements.

The Owner is University of Minnesota - Duluth. Project will be constructed under a Request for Proposal - Lump Sum contract.

The project consists of new HVAC systems for select areas of the dormitory referred to as Griggs Hall on the campus of the University of Minnesota Duluth. One new air handling unit will be installed per each pod along with electrical connections to same. Other rooftop mechanical equipment includes the replacement of existing rooftop unit ventilators with new roof unit ventilators.

New plumbing fixtures in the bathrooms will be installed throughout the pods. These include: new toilet fixtures, new lavatories and new showerheads. Piping for plumbing throughout shall be provided, along with ventilation as required.

Existing light fixtures across all floors will be replaced with new. Some small adjustments to light fixture layouts will be required in the toilet stall and shower areas for each bathroom in all pods.

Architectural finishes across all pods includes: the repainting of walls, repainting ceilings, replacement of existing tile with new carpet, replacement of existing rubber flooring in stairways with new rubber flooring, new rubber base, new tiling in restrooms, and some new tiling on shower stalls. The majority of doors, including hardware, will be replaced throughout the pods – as indicated on drawings. New solid surface lavatory tops will replacement the existing lavatory tops. Existing soffits in bathrooms will be replaced with new soffits.

**Add Alternate No. 1:** Provide a cost to Demo existing roof cap where former skylights used to be located and Add new Skylights. See Roof Plan 1/A2.6 for locations and detail 11/A6.1.

All Responses must be submitted electronically using this system. No email or paper copies are allowed unless specifically required and noted in the RFx.

Questions regarding this RFx shall be submitted through the MBid sourcing tool.

The system will NOT allow a late submittal.

Responses to the RFx are irrevocable for 120 days following the Close Date & Time.

The proposed insurer for all required insurance must be listed by A.M. Best with a rating of A- VII or better.

If required by Minnesota Statutes, Section 574.26, the selected Respondent must furnish to the University a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for the Project on University-approved bond forms.

Limit work in the existing building to normal business working hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, unless otherwise indicated.
