2026 Pole Replacement Project

Green Island Power Authority 2026 Pole Replacement Project. Request for Proposals. 50' poles to be replaced; various locations in the village.

Please provide separate amounts for each job listed below. Scope of work to include the following:

50' poles to be replaced; various locations in the village;

1. Pole 2 – Walnut and Thames. GIPA to provide all materials except the pole (50-foot, Class 2). Dead-end with dead-end buck arm; install wood arms and double down guys; reuse anchors; transfer streetlight.

2. Pole 7 – Paine and Hamilton. GIPA to provide materials; contractor to provide pole (50-foot, Class 2). Three-phase transformer replacement pole with concrete cutting. Crossarm construction.

3. Pole 10 – James Street. GIPA to provide materials; contractor to provide pole (45-foot, Class 2). Three-phase tangent pole with crossarm construction; transfer open-wire secondary, and streetlight.

4. Pole 9 – Bleeker and James. GIPA to provide materials; contractor to provide pole (50-foot, Class 1). Three-phase double dead-end framing with double dead-end buck arm. Concrete cutting; transfer open-wire secondary and streetlight.

• Contractor will supply the poles
• GIPA will provide the materials
• Contractor is responsible for picking up all materials @ 50 Cohoes Avenue, and delivering to job site
• Contractor is responsible for all traffic controls and safety procedures
• Contractor must notify GIPA if an outage is needed, to provide adequate time to customers (must give notice before disconnecting power)
• Contractor is responsible to bring all old materials / debris to 50 Cohoes Avenue
• GIPA is responsible for properly disposing / recycling all used materials
• GIPA will supply all materials
• Contractor will meet GIPA on all jobs prior to the bidding

Exclusions: Building permits fees, if required.

THIS PROJECT MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL BY FEBRUARY 28, 2027.

This is a prevailing rate project. All contractor(s) and/or sub-contractors must meet OSHA and NYS Labor Law Compliance. Current prevailing rate information can be found as an attachment to this request for proposals.

Bidder is **required** to submit proof of Workers Compensation and General Liability Insurance for all contractors and/or sub-contractors with bid. BIDDER MUST ALSO COMPLETE ATTACHED NON-COLLUSION BIDDING CERTIFICATION.

CERTIFICATE OF GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE NAMING AS ADDITIONALLY INSURED THE: GREEN ISLAND POWER AUTHORITY, 69 HUDSON AVENUE, GREEN ISLAND, NEW YORK 12183 AND PROOF OF WORKERS COMPENSATION INSURANCE ARE REQUIRED AND MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH BID. THIS INCLUDES ANY SUB-CONTRACTORS.
