The Town of Petersburgh is seeking bids from qualified contractors to perform stormwater remediation work at the Town Hall building. The Town Hall is a masonry/concrete foundation structure. The flooding originated from stormwater intrusion through the east foundation wall and from inadequate surface drainage during heavy rain events. Bidders are encouraged to inspect and measure for themselves all aspects of the site and building.
The project entails:
Item 1 - Exterior East-Wall Footing Drain Installation (70 LF)
Excavate the complete East wall to the bottom of the footing. Install a 6” perforated Schedule 40 drainpipe with 2” crushed stone 6” below and 12” above the 70 LF to the existing catch basin with filter fabric above the stone. Backfill with compaction. Install a 6” schedule 40 non-perforated pipe from the northeast gutter downspout to the existing catch basin at least 12” below surface.
Item 2 - Waterproofing of Exposed Foundation Surfaces
All exposed exterior foundation wall surfaces disturbed or uncovered during footing drain installation on the east wall shall be cleaned and treated with an approved waterproofing membrane prior to backfilling. Exterior below-grade foundation surfaces shall be treated with TREMproof fluid-applied waterproofing membrane or similar approved product.
Item 3 - East Site Grading / Surface Runoff Redirection
Raise the grade as high as possible to just below the windows. Final grade shall be pitched away from the building 6” over 36” and surface run off shall be directed into the existing catch basin.
Item 4 - Interior Drainage Improvements (Sump Pump, Curtain Drain Extension, Demo)
In the former supply room demo the sink and all non-working water/drain lines. In the basement bathroom demo the existing toilet and shower and all non-working water/drain lines. Remove and dispose of demoed items. Cap all sewer and vent drainpipes. [...] Install a sump pump pit 18”x22’ at the corner of the North/East walls. Install a new cast iron submersible sump pump w/vertical float switch. Install a back flow valve at the sump pump.
Interior masonry surfaces in the sump pit and curtain drain work area shall be treated with DRYLOK® Masonry Waterproof or similar approved product.
