CITY OF WESTERVILLE, OHIO REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. Electric Division. Item 19-019: 1/0 STR ALU 15kV 175MIL XLP, FULL NEUTRAL W/ WATER BARRIER SINGLE CONDUCTOR, 20,000 FT. Item 19-020: CABLE, 3-1/6 1/0 STR ALU 15KV 175MIL XLP; REDUCED NEUTRAL W/ WATER BARRIER THREE CONDUCTOR, 20,000 FT.

For both Item numbers: The desired cable shall be constructed of concentric-lay-stranded Aluminum Conductors as defined in ASTM B231. Stranding class B conductors are strongly preferred, but if class C stranded conductors have a more favorable lead time, class C stranding may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The neutral, (or metallic shield), shall be constructed of soft or annealed copper wire as defined in ASTM B3. The neutral size shall be a full concentric neutral, compliant with ICEA S-94-649 or an equivalent standard. Copper tape is not a desired construction for the neutral or metallic shield.

The Cable shall be rated for direct burial and installation within ducts. Insulation shall be made of Tree-Retardant Crosslinked Polyethylene (TR-XLPE), Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR), or an approved equal. The insulation level shall be 100% with a nominal thickness of 175 mils. The cable shall be constructed with an insulation shield.

Conductor Requirements:

• Material: Aluminum
• Voltage Rating: 15 kV
• The conductors shall be concentric-lay construction
• The conductor shall be classified as Class B and meeting all requirements as specified in ASTM B-231 - unless class C stranded conductors have a more favorable lead time, class C may be considered on a case by case basis.

Neutral Requirements:

• Material: Copper
• Construction: Full Concentric Neutral

All labor and materials should be included in your quotation amount.

Public authorities must pay the prevailing rate of wages on any enlargement, alteration, repair, remodeling, renovation or painting of any public improvement, the total overall project cost of which is fairly estimated to be more than $22,166.00. When the specifications include these items and your quotation price exceeds this amount, you must agree to pay your employees in accordance with the Ohio Prevailing Wage Law.

If your quotation exceeds **$40,000.00**, the City will need to formally advertise for competitive bids.
