Electric Distribution Utility Maintenance Truck Chassis Upfits

The City of Ames is accepting bids from qualified vendors for two (2) upfits for Electric Distribution Utility Maintenance truck chassis for the Fleet Services Department.

The following specifications were developed for the purchase and installation of one new fiberglass utility body, lift gate, Prime Design ladder rack, and other accessories specified herein. This body is to be mounted onto 2 new 2027 F-350 chassis with four wheel drive (4x4), crew cab, gas engine, 60-inch cab to axle, dual rear wheels (DRW) and equipped with a factory trailer brake controller, backup camera, and in-dash auxiliary switch bank. The chassis are expected to be delivered in January.

Warranty

Bidder shall provide one (1) year warranty on materials, for every major component purchased and installed on this unit, and for workmanship from his/her shop.

Manuals

Bidder shall provide OEM manuals available for all major components installed on the delivered vehicle.

The preferred method is to submit bids in AmesBids at amesbids.ionwave.net in the format required, included with these contract documents with all prices and requested data properly filled in, prior to the time and date bids are due. If technical issues occur while submitting the bid, contact the Procurement Specialist for the bid and determine an alternate method to receive the bid.

Bids may be withdrawn, altered, and/or resubmitted at any time prior to the time and date the bids are due. They may not be withdrawn within sixty days thereafter.

All bids shall specify F.O.B. Ames, IA and bid prices shall be inclusive of all freight and transportation costs.

The prices quoted herein are exclusive of all taxes such as sales and use taxes. The City of Ames is exempt from the following taxes: State of Iowa Sales and Use Taxes by Certificate No. 85-499, and Manufacturer's Federal Excise Tax by Registration No. A-102678.

A 1% local consideration shall be applied to acceptable bids or proposals from businesses located within Ames City limits and pays commercial property tax.
