What the bid is for

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA), as owner and operator of Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BNIA), invites proposals from interested and qualified consulting teams to define and develop the conceptual reconfiguration and preliminary design for the reconstruction of the BNIA passenger terminal interior.

Scope

The purpose of this project is to define and develop the conceptual reconfiguration and preliminary design for the reconstruction of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BNIA) terminal interior. The project will establish a cohesive design framework that improves the terminal’s appearance, passenger experience, functionality, accessibility, and wayfinding while addressing aging or functionally obsolete spaces, systems, and components.

Consultant services include existing conditions assessment, stakeholder engagement and space programming, design charrettes, alternatives development and evaluation, interior architecture and guest experience design, building systems design, cost estimating and funding eligibility analysis, phasing, Design Rationale Report, and a 30% design submission.
