The project will involve the design of a multi-use pavilion within the Canal-Gorge Park as part of the Niagara Falls Heritage Path. Development of the 3.5 acre Canal Gorge site is one of three gateway projects which serve as a bridge between the State Park and downtown Niagara Falls. The multi-use pavilion is an oval-shaped steel canopy structure.
The canopy is approximately 62 FT in the north-south direction and 39 FT in the east-west direction. The height of the sloped canopy varies from approximately 12 FT to 22 FT. The finishes of the canopy consist of a stainless steel flat-lock tile system at the roof and stainless steel panels at the fins and soffit. The roof structure is supported by small, slightly sloped, powder coated HSS steel posts of varying sizes which are cantilevered from a combined concrete mat footing below. The stage platform consists of a raised concrete slab topped by sealed Kebony decking over 2x4 sleeper substructure.
