This project is for the replacement of a section of 14” water main and installation of two 14” inline valves.
The Beaufort Jasper Water & Sewer Authority (“BJWSA”) is soliciting sealed bids from qualified firms (“Bidders or “Contractors”) to perform the scope of work or services in accordance with the terms and conditions as set forth herein.
A detailed Scope of Work/Services is provided in Exhibit G. Please refer to the Plans (Exhibit J) and Technical Specifications (Exhibit L), both provided as separate documents.
The Work is generally described as follows: This project is for the replacement of a section of 14” water main and installation of two 14” inline valves. The portion of 14” water main being replaced is at the transition point where the water main attached to the Bell Bridge headed northeast down Ribaut Rd., Beaufort, SC 29905. The pipe being replaced is heavily corroded and in danger of failing. There will be 2 phases of this project. Both phases will require the setup of traffic control and/or construction matting to access the pipe being replaced. Phase 1 will be the cut in installation of (2)14” butterfly valves, and replacement of existing fittings as determined necessary at a 20” x 14” transition in the main, to allow for the isolation of the mainline needing replacement. Phase 2 will be the replacement of approximately 40 linear feet of heavily corroded 14” water main and existing fittings at the transition point onto the Bridge. All work will be performed via open trench method in marsh wetlands. All fittings and pipe are to be fully restrained and wrapped in polyethylene corrosion protection. Contractor is to field verify Owner assets and locate any conflicting utility that may hinder the scope of work.
All work is to be completed by **June 30, 2027** and invoiced no later than July 30, 2027. All invoices must be emailed to invoices@bjwsa.org.
