Summary

AI-read from the bid documents

Summary fields on this page were extracted by AI from the bid documents. Always verify dates, amounts and requirements against the official solicitation.

What the bid is for

The Sandy Amphitheater is seeking a janitorial company to provide backstage cleaning services before and after events. Sandy City will provide supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap and basic cleaning supplies.

Vendors are welcome to bring any additional supplies to get the job done.

We are also seeking the option of having an on-site custodian during events. The bid can be for just the backstage cleaning, or the backstage cleaning plus the additional on-site event custodian. The bid may be awarded whole or in part.

Scope

Backstage Cleaning

The amphitheater must be cleaned before a group arrives, and after they leave. Event dates for the upcoming season are not yet set, but the building has the potential to operate any day/time from May to October. A full schedule will be provided to the selected company in the spring of each season. Additional events may be added at the venue's discretion.

Cleaning responsibilities include the following:

  • Sweep/mop the main stage entrance floor, also referred to as the loading dock area
  • Sweep/mop the stage floor
  • Throw away any trash/debris left over
  • Ensure all bathrooms on site are cleaned (sweeping, mopping the floor, cleaning toilets, wiping down counters, cleaning sinks, cleaning mirrors, ensuring all supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap are stocked, cleaning showers, etc.)
  • Clean all dressing rooms (sweep, mop, or vacuum the flooring, wipe down counter and tabletops, clean mirrors, empty all trashes, etc.)
  • Clean the main catering area (sweep and mop the floor, empty trash, wash and put away dishes, etc.)
  • Ensure all trash cans are emptied and trash is taken to appropriate dumpsters outside, restock trash cans with fresh liners
  • Clean box office area (empty trashes, wipe down countertops, sweep floor, etc.)
  • Ensure the building is clean, presentable, and ready for the next event arrival

On-Site, Day of Show Custodian

The amphitheater needs a custodian on-site during events. This position will regularly lift heavy bags and will go up and down stairs as needed to complete cleaning. The custodian should consistently be the same person who will become familiar with the venue, staff, and general flow of events. The custodian should be proficient in English and be able to use a walkie-talkie as necessary during events.

Cleaning responsibilities of the on-site custodian include the following:

  • Arrive at least one hour prior to doors opening (event start times vary, but a full schedule will be given in the spring for events)
  • Ensure all trash cans are upright, emptied, and ready to be used by guests
  • Continually monitor trash bins and empty as needed; remove all trash to appropriate dumpsters at the end of the night
  • Place recycling bins throughout the venue for patron use; remove to back parking lot to be emptied at the end of the night
  • Ensure restrooms are clean and fully stocked prior to doors opening
  • Continually monitor restrooms and clean as necessary (emptying full trash cans, refilling supplies, assisting with clogs, spills, or other incidents as needed)
  • Assist with any spills/debris or general clean up needed throughout the event

Additional Cleaning Opportunities

If possible, the amphitheater would like their janitorial company to also provide power washing services at least once a month. Power washing would be centered around guest chairs, venue stairways, main walkways, etc.
