Programming

Sedgwick County is seeking proposals for programming services for a joint Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office / Kansas Highway Patrol hangar at Jabara Airport in Wichita, KS. The attached Program of Spaces (Schaefer Architecture, revised June 12, 2026) outlines about 21,550 sq ft including reception, office, conference, support, and hangar areas.

Facility to accommodate select aircraft fleet and provide emergency response. Provide radio capability to monitor other agencies throughout office portion of building and hangar. Facility to be one-story with storage loft above hardened shelter, open to and accessible from hangar.

For daily use, the hangar shall store (1) Cessna 206 and (1) Airbus H125 for KHP, and (1) King Air 350 for SGSO, all of which shall be positioned to allow independent access, service and maintenance, and movement without the need to reposition or stack other aircraft. [...] Hangar shall have radiant tube heaters and large overhead fans for cooling. [...] Provide fire suppression system.

Facility, ramps and taxiways shall be secured behind fence. Public side to be accessed from Webb Rd.. All exterior doors shall be secured with access control. [...] Provide (1) helicopter landing / parking area.

A mandatory pre-proposal walkthrough is scheduled for October 26, 2026 at two locations, and proposers should attend both site visits.
