The City of Bryan, Texas is requesting qualifications for Professional Engineering services from firms interested in contracting with the City for designing and surveying services for 6 traffic signals. [...] The purpose of the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process is to identify the most qualified firm(s). It is intended that the selected firm or team accomplish and/or supply all services outlined in this Request for Qualifications. The City may decide to award multiple blanket purchase order type contracts to different firms to maximize options for delivery of the requested services.
The City of Bryan is requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified professional engineering firms to provide engineering design and associated professional services for the replacement and modernization of existing traffic signals throughout the City of Bryan and possible design and construction of new traffic signals within Bryan as needed.
The purpose of this project is to replace aging traffic signal infrastructure, improve intersection operations and safety, and bring associated pedestrian facilities into compliance with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility requirements, and applicable design standards. The scope of services will include the design of complete traffic signal replacements, associated concrete flatwork, pedestrian accessibility improvements, and other intersection modifications necessary to accommodate the proposed improvements. The contract may also include the design of a new traffic signal installation at a location identified by the City during the contract period.
The City anticipates a four-year program beginning with engineering design in Spring 2027. The program is expected to include the design of approximately two (2) traffic signals per year for the first three years, for a total of six (6) intersections. The City reserves the right to add or subtract from the total number of signals planned.
Construction activities are anticipated to occur under separate construction contracts. The selected engineering consultant will be required to provide bidding assistance and construction-phase engineering support for the intersections designed under this agreement.
