Total Maintenance of Fire Protection Equipment for the HIDOE

Furnish Total Maintenance of Fire Protection Equipment (FPE) at Various Hawaii State Department of Education Schools and Offices on the Islands of Oahu - Central District, Hawaii - South Hilo, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, and Kauai.

Work included under this Scope of Work shall consist of a full-service maintenance contract for Fire Protection Equipment (FPE). Work performed by the CONTRACTOR shall conform to current standards of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and be subject, where applicable, to all laws, statutes, ordinances, rules and regulations of the Federal, State, and Local Governments or any of their departments or agencies.

Work shall consist of FPE Inspection, Maintenance, and Testing. Work may include FPE Replacement and Services, and Authorized Extra Work for Emergency Services, Trouble Calls, and Repairs as needed throughout the year.

Work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, and incidentals necessary for recharging, replacing, cleaning, inspecting, mounting, reporting, tagging, and testing of all FPE. Also included is the furnishing and installation of missing or additional portable fire extinguishers; recharging and/or or disposal of existing portable fire extinguishers; installation of new fire hoses; and installation and removal of external signs. The STATE shall not furnish new portable fire extinguishers and signs.

All CONTRACTOR's personnel working on FPE shall be trained and certified per NFPA standards.

The CONTRACTOR shall perform the service at all school buildings and offices in which FPE are located, unless otherwise specified.

Services include:

• Portable fire extinguishers: annual inspection and annual maintenance; five (5) year hydrostatic testing, six (6) year maintenance, and twelve (12) year hydrostatic testing in accordance with current NFPA standards.
• Fire hose cabinet systems: annual inspections for testing and maintenance in accordance with current NFPA standards.
• Wet or dry standpipe systems: a five (5) year inspection for testing and maintenance in accordance with the current NFPA standards.
• Fire sprinkler systems: an annual inspection and test and a five (5) year internal inspection in accordance with the current NFPA standards.
• Kitchen hood suppression systems: a semi-annual (6-month) inspection in accordance with the current NFPA standards. Fusible links shall be replaced at least annually.
• Fire pump system (Oahu - Moanalua High School Performing Arts Center only): weekly, monthly and annual inspections, testing and maintenance of fire pumps and controllers in accordance with NFPA 25.
